Violation of exam guidelines: HC directs RGUHS to blacklist delinquent examiners

Strongly objecting to the continuous violation of University guidelines while conducting exams, the Karnataka High Court recently directed the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) to "wake up" and initiate action against "delinquent examiners".

Instructing the University to take precautionary measures and blacklist faulty examiners, the HC bench comprising of Justice P Krishna Bhat noted, "It is now time that the respondent-University wakes up to reality and proceeds to take action against delinquent examiners by blacklisting them, or by holding departmental proceedings so that this kind of malpractices do not recur. Future conduct of examination is concerned, the respondent-University shall take precautionary measures and ensure that malpractices do not take place causing the students to take examinations over and over. It is open to the respondent-University to device procedural safeguards to ensure compliance of the directions in this order."

MBBS final exam deadlock: Kerala govt urged to intervene

Referring to the inadequate clinical hours, the final-year MBBS students of Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) have now demanded immediate intervention from the State Government to postpone the ongoing examinations.

This comes after around 80% of the final-year medicos boycotted the first exam and staged a sit-in protest in front of the University. In fact, the students also arranged for a Twitter Storm on April 3 with hashtags such as #JusticeForFinalYearMedicos and #TeachUsBeforeExams.

WHO suspends the supply of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin vaccine through UN Agencies

The Bharat Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine, COVAXIN has been suspended by World Health Organization (WHO) from its Covax facility, announced the UN health body on Saturday attributing it to deficiencies in manufacturing practices.

"WHO confirms the suspension of supply of COVAXIN produced by Bharat Biotech, through UN procurement agencies and recommending to countries that received the vaccine to take actions as appropriate," reads the WHO in a statement.
