‘Virovore’: An organism that eats viruses discovered

Over a single day, in the placid waters of a single pond, a million virus particles might enter a single-celled organism known for the minuscule hairs, or cilia, that propel it through those waters.

Over the last three years, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s John DeLong has been busy discovering a potential tide-turning secret: Those virus particles are a source not just of infection, but nutrition.

QRG Hospital under PGIMS scanner for illegal kidney transplant

Days after the police booked seven persons for cheating a 28-year-old woman to donate her kidney with the promise of a government job for her husband, the Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak served notice to the QRG Hospital in Faridabad where the transplant took place.

PGIMS asked the QRG hospital to respond to the allegations of an illegal kidney transplant that took place in the hospital. The police had booked seven people including the head of the nephrology department and a coordinator at the private hospital under charges of cheating, threatening life and organ trafficking.

NEET PG 2023 exam on March 5; registration to begin soon

Ending the wait for Thousands of PG medical aspirants across the country, the National Board of examinations has announced that NEET PG 2023 will be held on 5th March 2023

NEET-PG is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various MD/MS and PG Diploma Courses as per Section 61(2) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019 read with 10 (D) of Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences ( NBEMS) shall conduct the next NEET- PG on 5th March 2023.

NMC directs medical colleges to fill up online details of new medicos enrolled for 1st year MBBS, extends deadline

Through a recent notice, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all the medical colleges to fill up online details/data of students enrolled for 1st-year MBBS degree for the academic year 2022-23. For the same, the apex medical regulator has extended the last date of submitted the requisite data to 10th January, 2022

As per the notice, the last date for uploading said data was fixed as 31/12/2022. However, it is observed that the medical colleges have not yet uploaded the complete data as a result of difficulties in monitoring the online data of the above students.
