India sees 20 percent jump in COVID cases
5,335 new coronavirus cases recorded in the last 24 hours in India, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. COVID update for today marks a 20 percent rise compared to yesterday’s reported cases of COVID 19.
Active caseload of COVID-19 in the country currently stands at 25,587.Daily positivity rate is 3.32 percent and Weekly Positivity Rate is 2.89 percent.

Beware of indiscriminate social media use: NMC warns Medical Students
Referring to the possible professional hazards associated with the indiscriminate use of social media, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked medical students not to indiscriminately post on social media regarding patients and patient-related information.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in the recently released guidelines on "Professional Responsibilities of Medical Students", NMC has discussed several issues related to the students including responsibilities related to academic growth, responsibilities related to personal growth, responsibilities towards society and national goals, and support framework to ensure optimal functioning and growth of medical students.

Even best of Radiologists cannot be better than USG Machine: NCDRC relief to Chhattisgarh Doctor
Setting aside the order issued by Chhattisgarh State Commission that held a radiologist guilty of providing wrong ultrasonography (USG) report for abdominal pain, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has absolved the doctor and noted that even the best of Radiologists cannot be better than the machine used for the USG, he cannot improve on the technical soundness or advancement of the machine available at his command.
Presiding Member Dr S M Kantikar clarified that there are certain limitations in USG.
