NMC launches online monitoring system for PG medical admissions, directs colleges to submit info 

With an aim to monitor all the Postgraduate medical admission, the PG Medical Education Board of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has launched an online monitoring system.

For initiating this system which aims to ensure faithful adherence to the norms of admission, NMC has instructed all the medical colleges to submit requisite information through an online system that can be accessed through NMC website (http://www/nmc.org.in).

No takeback system, mercury in bulbs poses health hazards

According to the findings of a new study by Toxics Link, Indian cities lacked a takeback system for fluorescent tube lights (FTLs) and compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). The discarded bulbs were either recycled or finished up in landfills, releasing mercury in both cases.


Novo Nordisk gets CDSCO panel okay to study anti-diabetic drug Semaglutide

In line with the drug major Novo-Nordisk's justification for anti-diabetic drug Semaglutide the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has given its nod to conduct the study.

This came after the firm presented the justification in the recommendation of the expert panel at the meeting of SEC for Endocrinology & Metabolism was held on 20.02.2022.
