IMA Punjab elated over appointment of Dr Balbir as minister
President of the Punjab chapter of the Indian Medical Association, Dr Paramjit Maan, hailed the induction of Dr Balbir Singh as the Health Minister in the Punjab cabinet by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
“Dr Balbir’s integrity would be an asset to the cabinet, and it would prove to be a boon for the promotion of healthcare services, medical research and science," Dr Maan told The Tribune.

850 MBBS students to lose out on NEET-PG
Altogether 850 MBBS students belonging to five Gujarat based medical colleges might not be able to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2023 examination because of the Internship completion deadline given by the National Board of Examination in Medical Science (NBEMS).
While NBEMS has clarified that the NEET PG 2023 candidates must complete their mandatory one-year MBBS internship on or before March 31, around 850 students from Gujarat will fulfill this criteria only between April 10 and April 30.

Indicating the low demand for dental courses in Karnataka, nearly half of all dental seats belonging to the government quota allotted to the State by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the academic year 2022-23, are vacant after the completion of NEET 2022 counselling.

Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the annex building of ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in the presence of Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan and Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar, here today.
He also laid the foundation stone for the ICMR School of Public Health and BSL III Laboratory. Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament was also present.
