Should Ukraine medicos be declared war victims? SC to hear matter

Demanding that Ukraine returned medicos be declared as war victims, a plea had been filed before the Supreme Court, which has listed the matter for hearing on September 12, 2022.
Filed by National Medical Forum, a national organization of doctors in India, Public Interest Litigation (PIL) under Article 32 of the Constitution of India seeks to safeguard and enforce the fundamental rights of the evacuee Indian students of war-torn Ukraine, particularly the Right to Life, Right to Education and Right to Equality enshrined and guaranteed under Article 21 and Article 21A & Article 14 of the Constitution of India.

No stipend for 7 Months: First year PG medicos of Osmania Medical College to boycott duties from September 12
Frustrated over non-payment of stipends for the last seven months, the First-year Postgraduate resident doctors belonging to Osmania Medical College have decided to initiate strike and boycott all services, excluding emergency, from September 12. 2022.
Informing the authorities about their plans to boycott services, the doctors of the medical college have asked them to clear all the dues by September 11. Interestingly, while these medicos joined their courses back in February 1, 2022, they have not received any stipend so far.

Indian pharma market sees 12.1 percent growth in august: AIOCD-AWACS report
The Indian Pharmaceutical Market (IPM) saw significant growth of 12.1 percent in value and 4.8 percent in volume, in the month of August, 2022, says market research firm All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD-AWACS).
"A robust 12% growth of the IPM seems to be supported by a good volume driven growth for majority of the therapy areas," the AWACS report said. It also claimed that COVID influence had reduced drastically by July 21 last year and most of the therapies had started following the normal seasonal trends. For the month of August 22, price increase led growth seems to be slightly higher than the volume growth.

Artificial sweeteners are widely used as no or low calorie alternatives to sugar. They are found in variety of products globally including artificially sweetened drinks, some snacks, and low calorie ready meals.

Researchers have found in a new study that higher consumption of artificial sweetener was associated with increased cardiovascular disease risk, including heart attack and stroke. Therefore they "should not be considered a healthy and safe alternative to sugar," argue researchers.
