43 Medical Colleges Added, 11,682 MBBS Seats, 8,967 PG Seats Approved for 2025-26: MoS Health

A total of 43 new medical colleges have been established and the government has approved 11,682 MBBS seats and 8,967 Postgraduate seats (including AIIMS and INIs) across the country for the 2025-26 academic year, Minister of State for Health Smt Anupriya Patel informed the parliament.

Responding to a query asked by a parliament member on whether the government has recently approved new medical education seats and new medical colleges across the country for the academic session 2026, the Minister shared details of the State/UT-wise details of the new medical colleges approved for A.Y. 2025–26 and newly approved MBBS and PG seats for A.Y. 2025–26.
