589 Postgraduate Seats Approved in 27 Colleges After NMC Review

With the addition of 171 postgraduate seats based on the National Medical Commission's decision on the appeals by medical colleges, taking the total seats after the approval to 587 in 27 medical colleges.

Speciality-wise, the total number of MD Anaesthesiology seats at these 27 medical colleges has now become 109 seats. Further, based on the decision of the Appeal Committee, there are altogether 2 seats each in MD Anatomy, and MD Community Medicine, 23 seats in MD Dermatology, Venerology and Leprosy, 8 seats in MD Emergency Medicine, 144 seats in MD General Medicine, 5 seats in MD ImmunoHaematology & Blood Transfusion, 2 seats in MD Microbiology, 43 seats in MD Paediatrics, 6 seats in MD Pathology, 2 seats in MD Pharmacology, 2 seats in MD Physiology, 10 seat in MD Psychiatry, 8 seats in MD Respiratory Medicine, 110 seats in MD Radio-Diagnosis, 3 seats in MD Sports Medicine, 63 seats in MS General Surgery, 33 seats in MS Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 6 seats in MS Ophthalmology, and 8 seats in MS Orthopaedics.
