Union Health Minister JP Nadda recently highlighted a major transformation in India's medical education landscape, announcing that the number of medical colleges in the country has more than doubled- from 387 in 2014 to 819 in 2025 -and the total number of MBBS seats has surged from 51,000 to 1.29 lakh during the same period.

Similarly, postgraduate medical seats have risen from 31,000 to 78,000, reflecting a significant expansion of opportunities for medical aspirants across the nation.
