9 month old treated in New Era Mother and Child Care Hospital for rare heart defect

A surgical team of New Era Mother and Child Care Hospital has performed the complex procedure on a 9-month-old baby boy diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition called Supracardiac Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC).
TAPVC is a complex congenital heart defect in which the pulmonary veins, responsible for carrying oxygen-rich blood from the lungs to the heart, are abnormally connected. The surgery was led by renowned paediatric cardiac surgeon Dr Sandeep Khanzode and cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Anand Sancheti.
