In a complex legal and ethical scenario, the Supreme Court has decided to seek a new report from a medical board at AIIMS regarding the condition of a 26-week-old healthy and viable foetus and the mental state of the woman carrying it.
The bench, consisting of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, has asked a 27-year-old married woman with two sons to undergo examination by the medical board.
