With an aim to avoid disrupting business continuity due to the implementation of the licensing regime with effect from 01.10.2023 for Class C and D medical devices, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has decided to accept applications for license submitted by manufacturers or importers of Class C and D medical devices as deemed valid for up to six months.

This was in response to the submissions the office received from a number of Associations and stakeholders requesting that the licensing scheme for Class C and D medical devices not interfere with business continuity starting on October 1, 2023.
