A Delhi court, on a recent Wednesday, found AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal and his associate Kapil Nagar guilty in a case of abetment to suicide related to the death of a doctor from South Delhi in 2020. The judgment was passed by Special Judge MK Nagpal, who concluded that the evidence against Jarwal and Nagar was consistent and convincing, convicting them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including abetment of suicide, criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation, and extortion.
Despite many witnesses, including the victim's family, retracting their statements, possibly out of fear, the court established guilt. The case centered around Dr. Rajender Singh, 52, who took his life, leaving behind a note accusing Jarwal and Nagar of extortion and harassment linked to his water supply business, contributing to his decision to commit suicide.
