HC rejects plea for appointment of dialysis technicians in govt hospitals

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court recently dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that sought the appointment of a sufficient number of permanent dialysis technicians in government hospitals across the state. The Court noted that matters related to the creation of new posts and recruitment are within the government's policy jurisdiction.

The petition was filed by activist C. Anand Raj of Madurai in 2024, who raised concerns over the quality of dialysis treatment provided in government hospitals.
