Take strict action on medical colleges charging MBBS internship fee, and not paying stipend to FMGs: NMC orders 

Taking note of the fact that despite earlier order, some of the medical institutes are charging Internship fee from Indian and FMG interns and denying to pay them stipend, the National Medical Commission has directed all the State Medical Councils and Directorates of Medical Education (DME) to take necessary action in this regard.

Issuing a circular yesterday, NMC, the Apex Medical Regulator noted, "It has been brought into the notice of the National Medical Commission through various sources that some medical colleges/ institutes across the country are charging internship fee from the interns, Indian and Foreign Medical Graduates for doing their internship in their colleges/ institutes and also not paying stipend to them."

85 junior resident vacancies in various departments at Lady Hardinge Medical College Delhi

The Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), New Delhi has released Vacancies for the Non-PG Junior Resident(NPGIRs) posts in various departments on a Regular Basis.

LHMC, which is one of India's oldest and most established medical colleges, is undergoing a major infrastructural change under the Comprehensive Redevelopment Project to meet the modern-day health needs of the patients and the educational needs of the students studying here. This Medical and Nursing College was the first Medical College to be built in Delhi soon after it became the capital on being shifted from Calcutta in 1912.

NEET 2022 applications closed

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 is scheduled to be held on July 17. The application process for the same has been closed. 


Government puts ports, airports on alert over rising cases of monkeypox     

India has stepped up surveillance and asked its airport officers and port to be vigilant and isolate sick persons travelling from affected countries with symptoms or history of the disease.

The health ministry has also asked officials to undertake strict thermal screening for suspected international passengers with any history of travel to monkeypox affected countries in last 21 days. The health ministry has directed National Centre for Disease Control and Indian Council of Medical Research to keep a close watch on the situation and strengthen community surveillance for early detection of any positive case.
