The Union Health Ministry on Saturday dismissed the findings published in the academic journal Science Advances, which claimed that India has reported 11.9 lakh excess deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The Ministry claims that the study was based on untenable and unacceptable estimates.
