How will medical qualifications be recognised in India? NMC releases Draft Regulations, invites comments
Aiming to bring uniformity in the matter of recognition of medical qualifications across the country, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced the draft of the "National Medical Commission (Recognition of Medical Qualification) Regulations, 2023."
Issuing a public notice in this regard, the Director of the UG Medical Education Board of NMC, Shambhu Sharan Kumar mentioned, "The Undergraduate Medical Education Board proposes to make the above mentioned regulations in exercise of powers vested with NMC under sub Section (2) of section 57 read with Section 26, 28 & 29 of NMC Act, 2019 (30 of 2019). A draft regulation in this regard is being shared for public comments."
