Soon after the Karnataka High Court quashed the Government order that had reduced the In-service reservation for PG medical admission, now the State Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has increased the reservation for In-service doctors from 15% to 20% for the academic year 2022-2023.

Therefore, instead of 206 PG medical seats, now 279 seats are reserved for the In-service doctors seeking admission to PG medical courses in Karnataka.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the In-service PG medical aspirants had approached the HC seeking an increase in the number of reserved seats. While considering the matter, the HC bench had passed an interim order and stayed the NEET PG Counselling process in Karnataka. As a result, Karnataka Examinations Authority had stopped the counselling process.
