The death of a 72-year-old woman during a routine blood test at Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Civil Hospital in Kolhapur on Monday has led to allegations of medical negligence and prompted temporary disciplinary action against hospital staff.

The deceased, Shakuntala Madhukar Pawar, a resident of Rajendranagar, had visited the hospital for a routine blood test ahead of a scheduled cataract operation. However, according to hospital officials, she unexpectedly collapsed while her blood was being drawn and was declared dead shortly thereafter.
