MoHFW announces 50 new medical colleges approved across country this year
While the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) recently announced that 50 new medical colleges have been added in the country, none of these medical colleges have been added in the State of Kerala.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a major boost to undergraduate medical education in India, altogether 50 new medical colleges have been approved this year with an intake capacity of 8,195 MBBS seats. With this, the total number of UG medical seats in the country has been increased to 1,07,658. According to official sources, with the addition of these 50 new medical colleges (30 government and 30 private), the number of medical colleges in the country now stands at 702.
