The district administration and police launched a major crackdown during the NEET UG 2026 re-examination in Bihar after suspected cases of impersonation and examination fraud surfaced at multiple centres in Lakhisarai district. A total of 30 people were arrested during checks, including nine individuals who were allegedly appearing in the examination on behalf of other candidates.

According to officials, one impersonator was caught at the KRK High School examination centre, seven at Kendriya Vidyalaya and one at Hasanpur School examination centre. The accused reportedly belong to different districts of the state, reports NDTV.

Apart from the nine alleged impersonators, 21 other individuals were also arrested for their suspected involvement in the examination fraud network. The arrested persons are being questioned under the supervision of SDM Prabhakar Kumar and SDPO Shivam Kumar. Based on information gathered during interrogation, a special police team has launched raids at several locations linked to the case. District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar and Superintendent of Police Prerna Kumar are closely monitoring the investigation. Officials suspect that a larger organised network may be involved and said further arrests could follow. Authorities added that complete details of the alleged racket would emerge after the investigation is completed.
