NMC revises eligibility criteria for NEET UG
In a major relief to medical aspirants, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has now announced that candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology along with English even as additional subjects after passing Class 12th from duly recognized boards by the concerned Govt., shall be allowed to appear in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) examination and they will also be eligible for grant of Eligibility Certificate.
The Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of NMC announced the modified eligibility criteria for the NEET-UG examination through the notice dated 22.11.2023. The NMC UG Board issued the notice in response to a large number of queries/representations, and various court cases involving the matter.
