'Off-season' chickenpox and herpes cases on rise which leaves patients, doctors baffled in Kolkata

An off-season surge in chickenpox and herpes cases has left doctors and patients in Kolkata stumped this winter. Chickenpox cases are more frequently reported during the February- April period. But scores have been suffering from it since mid-December.

While chickenpox spreads through droplets, herpes can be transmitted through physical contact.
