In recent months, there has been a surge in mumps cases across several Indian states, including Delhi-NCR, prompting concerns among healthcare professionals. Mumps, a viral infection primarily affecting children and young adults, presents with acute flu-like symptoms and inflammation of the salivary glands.

Common symptoms include fatigue, muscle pain, loss of appetite, headache, fever, and painful swelling in the salivary glands. While most cases resolve within a week without major complications, some individuals may experience prolonged discomfort, including inflammation of the testicles.
