Covid 19 to be a cause of stroke in elderly

A recent study in Neurology journal provides evidence that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is associated with increased risk of acute ischemic stroke in the first 3 days after diagnosis in patients over 65 years of age.

COVID-19-related strokes are reported to be more severe in nature and resulted in higher mortality and morbidity. Hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and higher baseline etc. Covid continues to complicate its adverse effects.
