A recent review article was published in the Indian Journal of Musculoskeletal Radiology by Scientific Scholar (Scientific Scholar) titled "World Health Organization Classification of bone tumors (fifth edition): What a radiologist needs to know?"

Since 1967, the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of tumors has been regarded as a reference standard and practical guide and provides a precious resource not only for histopathologists and oncosurgeons but also for the radiologists involved in cancer care. Primary bone tumors are a rare and heterogeneous group of neoplasms that have a broad spectrum of morphological, biological, genetic, and radiological features.

Appropriate imaging workup and accurate histopathological diagnosis are crucial for appropriate management and prognostication. The fourth edition of the WHO classification of tumors of soft tissue and bone was introduced in 2013.

To discuss the fifth edition of the WHO classification of tumors of soft tissue and bone, and talk about her review article the Medical Dialogues team interacted with the lead author of the article, Dr Sonal Saran from the Department of Radiodiagnosis, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, India.

In this video, Dr. Sonal discusses the following query.

1. How has your experience as an author writing the engaging article and subsequently getting published in the Indian Journal of Musculoskeletal Radiology?

2. Please tell us about the reason/rationale for you and your team to have conducted this study and its overall clinical significance.

3. What are the key takeaways for fellow clinicians/researchers in this clinical domain and the generic reader base/patients/students?

4. How has been your experience as an author interacting with the editorial team of Scientific Scholar and subsequently being chosen to present your findings to a larger audience via Medial Dialogues?
