Doctors at KIMSHEALTH successfully performed minimally invasive surgery to remove a tumor from the adrenal gland of an 11-month-old child using the Posterior Retroperitoneoscopic Method.
The baby girl, a resident of Kollam, was diagnosed to have a tumor on the right adrenal gland, identified through ultrasound by Dr Sanuja Titus Santosh, Senior Consultant, Department of Pediatrics when the baby presented with incessant crying. A CT scan confirmed the tumor in the baby's adrenal gland, situated above the right kidney, positioned close to the large blood vessel and liver.
