How often do varicose veins recur, and how are recurrent varicose veins different from residual varicose veins? - Dr Ved Kumar Sharma
The recurrence of varicose veins continues to be a problem in treating chronic venous illness. Despite advances in diagnostic and therapeutic options, recurrence of varicose veins following treatment has been recorded in up to 13-65% of patients.
The main difference between recurrent and residual varicose veins is that recurrent varicose veins are veins that have reappeared after treatment and may require additional treatment to address the underlying vein disease, while residual varicose veins are veins that remain after treatment but may not require additional treatment if they are not causing significant symptoms.
In this video, Prof. Dr Ved Kumar Sharma, Department of surgery, IGMC, Shimla will explain How often do varicose veins recur and how are recurrent varicose veins different from residual varicose veins
