Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a form of venous disease that occurs when veins in legs are damaged. CVI causes blood to pool in leg veins, leading to high pressure in the veins. As a result, these veins can’t manage blood flow as well as they should, and it becomes harder for blood in legs to return to heart.

The choice of treatment will depend on the severity of the disease, the location of the affected veins, and other factors such as the patient's overall health and preferences.
