The recently released trailer of Doctor G starring Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead role has created quite a stir in the medical fraternity since the movie portrays the journey of a resident doctor who wanted to pursue Orthopaedics but ends up in the Gynaecology department.

While the movie has promised to offer an inside tour of the medical colleges, hospitals and the Gynaecology department in specific, the expectations are also high among the doctors for the fact that the movie has been written by a doctor himself.

Dr. Saurabh Bharat, a dentist turned writer, wrote this movie along with his friend Vishal Wagh. After completing his BDS degree, Dr. Bharat decided not to continue in medical profession and got himself enrolled in the New York Film Academy.

After completing one year diploma in film making, he came back to Mumbai and started working as an Assistant Director. Previously he has assisted in many films including Prakash Jha in Satyagraha. However, later he turned himself towards writing and started working on feature films. While Doctor G is his first film, he is currently working on three other projects.

In this MD Exclusive Interview, Dr Saurabh Bharat talks about his motivation, idea behind the movie, and how this movie will depict the life of doctors in India.
