The National Dental Commission (NDC) has directed all dental colleges and institutions to strictly comply with the provisions of the National Dental Commission Act, 2023, while admitting students to BDS and MDS courses, warning that admissions made outside the prescribed NEET and common counselling process may invite regulatory and penal action.

According to the circular issued by the Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Dental Education Board (UGPG-DEB) in this regard, the NDC Act, 2023 provides the statutory framework for regulation of dental education, admissions, examinations, training and dental institutions in the country. All dental institutions are, therefore, required to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the Act, the rules and regulations made thereunder, and the directions issued by the NDC and its Autonomous Boards.
