Medanta, Artemis pharmacy license suspended

Gurugram: License of the Pharmacies of two major hospitals in the city, namely Medanta as well as Artemis Hospital are reported to have been suspended, after the authorities found them in violation under the Drug and Cosmetic Rules, 1945.
A raid in this regard was conducted by the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) of Haryana government on October 27, on the premier hospitals at Gurugram including Medanta, Artemis and Fortis. During the raid, the pharmacies attached to these hospitals were found to be lacking in transparency and maintenance of records under Drug and Cosmetic Rules, 1945. In particular, discrepancies were found under the section 65 of the said rules that pertain to the Condition of licences.
