Thane: An Out Patient Department (OPD) of a government hospital at Ulhasnagar in Thane district was vandalised allegedly by members of two groups, police said.

The incident occurred when two persons booked by the police for assaulting each other were taken to the Central Hospital for medical check-up, said senior police inspector of the Central Police Station V C Dolas.

He said the supporters of the duo too arrived at the hospital and an argument ensued, culminating into a fight.

The mob vandalised the OPD as well as furniture and also abused the doctors and hospital staff who tried to intervene.

Police have booked ten persons under various sections of the IPC including rioting, the Maharashtra Medical Services Association Rules, the Criminal Law Amendment Act and under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984.
