Nagpur: Baby dies after getting MR vaccine

Nagpur: A one-year-old girl died after being administered with measles and rubella (MR) vaccination at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here Astha Godange was vaccinated at Tumsar tehsil’s Garra village on December 15, along with her four-year-old brother Sargam.
As her condition deteriorated, she was rushed to the general hospital at Bhandara, which further referred her to GMCH in Nagpur on December 16, where she succumbed on December 17 (Tuesday), sources said and informed that her death was due to complications developed post-MR vaccination (revealed a diagnosis of gastroenteritis).
Meanwhile, her brother who was also admitted to the hospital was given discharge on Wednesday.
Similarly, on December 7, an 11-year old girl, Aradhya Waghaye, the resident of Lakhni tehsil of Bhandara, died following complications developed post-MR vaccination, sources added.
