Attentions Hospitals: NBE invites applications for FNB, DNB Accreditation, Apply Now

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is inviting applications from hospitals, institutions and medical colleges which intend to run Diplomat in National Board (DNB) and Fellow in National Board (FNB) programmes at their facilities.


The information to this effect comes via a recent notification on the official website of NBE. Government hospitals, PSU Hospitals, Railway Board Hospitals, AFMS Hospitals, Municipal Hospitals, etc are requested to take necessary administrative approvals and financial sanctions well in advance in order to apply within the application window.


The applications for July/August cycle for the year 2019 shall be available 16th August 2019 onwards. The last date to submit Online Accreditation Applications shall be 16th September 2019.


National Board of Examinations (NBE) accredits hospitals/institutions for running DNB program in various Broad & Super Specialty disciplines and Fellowship program in various subspecialty disciplines of modern medicine.

The notice mentions that year 2019 onwards, the accreditation applications shall be invited bi-annually (January/Feb and July/August) from hospitals, institutions, medical colleges for seeking fresh/renewal of accreditation in various DNB/FNB program. The cutoff date for submission of applications in Jan/Feb 2019 cycle is already over.


The detailed notice with Information Bulletin and weblinks to access Online Accreditation Applications for July/August cycle shall be uploaded on NBE website in due course.

National Board of Examinations (NBE) administers postgraduate and postdoctoral course in various disciplines of modern medicine leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Fellow of National Board (FNB). DNB is a Post Graduate level degree programme administered by NBE in 30 Broad Specialty and 30 Super Specialty disciplines. NBE is also entrusted with the responsibility of conducting NEET PG, NEET SS, NEET MDS and FMGE Screening Test.


NBE administers its DNB courses through its more than 615 accredited hospitals across the country contributing to about 7783 postgraduate DNB seats, mostly in clinical disciplines. NBE offers a rapid, flexible and practical expansion potential of raising the specialist seats in the country.
