New Delhi: LG rejects proposal to open mohalla clinics in schools
New Delhi: The Lt Governor's office has rejected a Delhi government proposal to open mohalla clinics inside school premises, and sent back the file related to the project, officials said.
"The file has been sent back to make some changes. After corrections are made, the government can send the file back to the LG's office," an official at Lt Governor's office told IANS.
"If a clinic has to be opened inside the school, then these rules need to be amended," the official said, adding that the objection was only for opening clinics in school premises.
"There has been no objection so far to the wider mohalla clinic policy. In fact, the file pertaining to the wider policy was never even sent to the LG's office," the official said.
Mohalla clinics are run by the Delhi government and are aimed at providing free primary healthcare to all.
