New Delhi: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a webinar on the importance of the Tika Utsav-Covid Vaccination.

Held on April 13, 2021, the webinar was moderated by Vivek Seigell, Assistant Secretary-General, PHD Chamber, and was attended by many stalwarts of the Industry. The webinar was sponsored by AYUSH Herbs Private Limited & the Association of Manufacturers of Ayurvedic Medicine (AMAM).

"Tika Utsav is pivotal because we know that there is no proven medicine to combat COVID-19. We need to maintain 6 feet social distancing, wear the mask, regular hand washing, and regular sanitization, maintain a good diet and fitness," mentioned Dr Manoj Nesari, Adviser (Ay.) Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India in the webinar organized by PhD. Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Importance of Tika Utsav-Covid Vaccination.

Dr Manoj Nesari mentioned that we need to strengthen our immunity system by consuming AYUSH Kadha, Chawanprash, and other ayurvedic supplements. We need to promote vaccination as well as consumption of ayurvedic medicines for long-term well-being.

Padma Bhushan Vd. Devendera Triguna, President of AMAM, All India Ayurvedic Congress, and Ayurveda Mahasammelan mentioned that with the second wave of the pandemic, the citizens of the nation need to be cautious. We need to maintain social distancing, wear masks, wash hands sanitize regularly, stay indoors as much as possible. We need to follow the protocols laid down by the Ministry of AYUSH and consume ayurvedic products.

Dr. V. Sasibhushan, Senior Manager, Dabur Research & Development Centre, Dabur India Limited shared his views on the importance of covid vaccination and Tika Utsav which will encourage people to undergo the process of vaccination. He mentioned that vaccination will help lead to a decline in the number of cases leading to a break in the chain of spreading. It will create antibodies that will help in fighting the virus in a better manner.

Dr. Santosh Joshi, Sr. General Manager, Hamdard Laboratories India while discussing the importance of Tika Utsav encouraged that people must have a second dose of the vaccine so that we can combat Covid-19. We have been the pharmacy to the world and we have played a pivotal role in the manufacturing and supply of the vaccine around the world as well as in the nation.

Mr. Pradeep Multani, Sr. Vice President, Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce and Industry deliberated about the adverse effects witnessed amidst the pandemic on industry, society, and humanity at large. Talking about the diligent efforts done by the Indian government in being a vaccine supplier to the world, he discussed the importance of getting vaccinated which will help to protect the person as well the people and community around them.

We at the Ph.D. Chamber stands by with the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister to inoculate maximum eligible people during the 'Tikautsav' from 11th to 14th April 2021 throughout the country and are spreading the awareness to and through our members our State Chapters for the Tika Utsav, said Mr. Pradeep Multani.

Mr. Jitender Sodhi, Co-Chair, AYUSH Committee, Ph.D. Chamber discussed the importance of vaccination which is a safe and effective way to prevent disease and save lives – now more than ever. Some people mistakenly believe that they do not need to vaccinate their family members because so many other people have had their immunizations. But hundreds of thousands of people don't have full immunity (e.g., young babies who are not fully vaccinated, people undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, people with HIV, children on steroids for asthma, and others.) Since the bacteria and viruses that cause these diseases still exist throughout the world, only by working together can we keep diseases away, and help keep our families and communities healthy.

Mr. Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary-General, Ph.D. Chamber while proposing a formal vote of thanks to all the delegates and participants mentioned we all know that 'TikaUtsav' has already been kicked off in the country to vaccinate the maximum number of eligible people against the coronavirus infection. The special vaccination drive has been initiated from 11th- 14th April 2021- 14th with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's directions and we at Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce and Industry encourages all the eligible citizens to get vaccinated and helps India become a self-reliant covid-free nation in the times to come.
