897 PG Medical Seats up for grabs at AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS For January 2021

New Delhi: There are a total of 897 PG medical seats available for candidates at all AIIMS institutes, PGIMER, NIMHANS and JIPMER, shows the recently released final seat position for MD, MS, MDS, DM and MCh courses admission to which will be made via the PG medical entrance test INI CET 2020.

The Institutes of National Importance-Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) is for admission to MD, MS, DM, MCh in Institutes of National Importance for medical education including the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) at New Delhi, all new AIIMS, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) at Puducherry, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research at Chandigarh (PGIMER), and National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) at Bengaluru.

Earlier, AIIMS had released the tentative seat position at all the institutions and the final one was awaited; however, now the final seat position has been published with major changes.

As per the final seat position, 34 PG seats which were allocated to AIIMS Nagpur have been reduced while 3 more seats have been added to AIIMS New Delhi. Besides, 2 PG Medical seats have been added to AIIMS Patna and AIIMS Raipur has got 1 more seat for candidates.

The total seats at AIIMS Bhopal, AIIMS Bhubaneswar AIIMS Rishikesh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru and PGIMER Chandigarh remains unchanged.

In view of the above, the total of PG medical seats at AIIMS New Delhi has now come to 173 for MD, MS, MDS, DM, MCh courses.

AIIMS Nagpur has no seats this session. AIIMS Patna and Raipur have 75 and 85 PG medical seats available for candidates in the January PG medical session.

AIIMS branches at AIIMS Jodhpur and AIIMS Rishikesh have 100 and 102 seats respectively. AIIMS Bhopal has 50 seats for candidates. 67 PG medical seats are available at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

JIPMER has 115 PG medical seats for students this year as per the final seat position. Meanwhile, NIMHANS has 20 seats for PG medical aspirants. PGI is offering 110 seats for PG medical aspirants this year.

The notification on the final seat position further informs that In case of Rural Area candidates, five percent seats shall be allotted on horizontal basis. Meanwhile, as per provisions (Chapter VI Clause 32) of the Rights of the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities Act 2016, five percent seats shall be allotted on horizontal basis. The disability certificate of candidates should be issued by authorized Medical Board of the State Govt./Govt. of India or any other Competent authority authorized in this regard by the State/Government of India. No change in seat position of Foreign National / Bhutani National / Sponsored candidates.

Note: Seat position is as received from respective Institute.

Reservation for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) for AIIMS New Delhi & 7 other AIIMS

a) For MD/MS:

As per provisions (Chapter VI Clause 32) of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act. 2016 Five percent of seats shall be reserved for Persons (Indian nationals) with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) The reservation will be provided on horizontal basis, as per their rank in order of merit in examination. Vacant seat, if any, shall be offered to the candidate from the general/relevant category.

b) For MDS: As per 100-point roster, 1 (one) seat is reserved for Persons (Indian Nationals) with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) for the January 2021 session at AIIMS, New Delhi, in order of merit.

c) Foreign National / Sponsored

i) AIIMS New Delhi, AIIMS Rishikesh and JIPMER, Puducherry (Foreign National / Sponsored)

The sponsored/Foreign National candidates are not required to participate in the Online Counselling/Seat Allocation process. Seat allocation process will have already been done in the result notification.

ii) PGIMER, Chandigarh (Foreign National & Bhutanese National candidates)

Seat Allocation of qualified candidates will be done by the PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Note: - No change in seat position of Foreign National / Sponsored candidates. The other terms and conditions mentioned in Prospectus will remain same.
