DCI Directs all Dental Colleges to upload details of admitted MDS students
New Delhi: The Dental Council of India (DCI) has directed all the Dental Colleges in the Country to Upload the details of students admitted in MDS Courses and PG Diploma Courses at Dental Colleges for the academic session 2021-2022.
As per the notification issued on the official website of DCI, Kamini Uppal, the Assistant Secretary of the Dental Council of India wrote to all the dental colleges in India and said " As per Time Schedule proposed and prescribed by the Government of India in its letter dated 04.10.2021, the date of commencement of MDS / PG Diploma Courses for the academic session 2021-22 is 18.10.2021 and the cut-off date for admission and reporting of student in the college is till 10.11.2021. As such, all the dental colleges/institutions are required to upload the details of students admitted by them to MDS I PG Diploma Courses for the academic year 2021-22 on the Website of DCI on I or before 10.11.2021 (12.00 midnight)."
It is also clarified that the duration of MDS Courses shall be of 03 years and similarly the PG Diploma Course shall be of 02 years from the date of commencement of the session.
Accordingly, all the college authorities are directed to upload the details of students admitted in MDS Course(s) I PG Diploma Course(s) at their dental college for the academic session 2021-22 on DCI Website, positively by 10.11.2021 (12:00 midnight).
In order to smooth uploading the details of students and to avoid the unnecessary delay, undue pressure and technical fault on network, in uploading the details of the students at the last moment of cut-off date, each and every dental institutions shall make its efforts to upload the details of students gradually immediately after the date of joining of student of each round of counseling, but not later than 10.11.2021, in any circumstances. In other words, the college shall not wait for uploading the details of its students for last moment of cut-off date and the details would be uploaded by the college after each round of counseling.
The details of admitted students uploaded only through online DCI module shall be considered and the details sent by colleges by other modes viz, e-mail or hard copy shall not be entertained & considered by the DCI in any circumstances and the DCI shall not take any action on such details.
It is also stated that no request for extension of time to upload the above details of students or any other excuse or reason of technical fault, etc. shall be considered. The onus of furnishing true, correct and authentic information is upon the college concerned and in case of, furnishing of any wrong / incorrect information it shall be open to DCI to initiate action that is permissible in law.
In case of any technical problem in uploading, you may contact DCI during working hours but on or before 10.11.2021 for technical support at secy-dci@nic.in or call on 011-23238542. No request/phone call in this regard shall be entertained after 12.00 midnight on 10.11.2021.
No college shall admit any student at its own level, in violation of admission criteria as prescribed in the Dental Council of India, Master of Dental Surgery Course Regulations, 2017 or the Time Schedule for the academic session 2021-22 and the rules and regulations/guidelines framed by the respective state I counseling authorities. In case, any admissions is/are so made, the college authorities shall be liable to discharge such students, failing which the provisions of the Section lOB of the Dentists (Amendment) Act, 1993 providing for non-recognition of dental qualification in respect of such students or/and the provisions of Section 16A for withdrawal of recognition for violation of conditions of admissions, along with Section hA of the Dental Council of India (Establishment of New Dental Colleges. Opening of New or Higher Course of Study or Training and Increase of Admission Capacity in Dental Colleges) Regulations, 2006 for stoppage of admissions, as the case may be, would be initiated against such erring dental colleges.
A Tentative Schedule for conduction of MDS Counselling 2021 by states has been prepared which is under consideration by the MoHFW (Tentative Schedule attached). The date of commencement of the session for MDS courses may be informed to MCC. Also.

Counselling was stalled on 27.08.202] and kept on hold till 26.09.2021 due to the decision pending in SLP hearing for seeking clarification against the judgement dated 25.08.2021 passed by the Hon'ble High Court of Madras.
