MCC releases round 3 stray vacancy schedule after SC lowers cutoff percentile for BDS admissions

New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the schedule of the 3rd stray vacancy round in pursuance of the Supreme Court orders lowering the qualifying criteria for BDS admissions.

The Candidates of NEET-UG, 2020 are informed that in compliance with the Judgment dated 08.02.2021 in "W.P. (C) No. 54 of 2021 in the matter of Harshit Agarwal & Ors. V/s Union of India & Ors.", the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India was pleased to direct as follows:

"We direct that the vacant seats in first year BDS course for the year 2020-2021 shall be filled up from the candidates who have participated in the NEET (UG) courses for the year 2020-2021 after lowering the percentile mark by 10 percentile. The admissions shall be made strictly in accordance with merit and the admission process shall be completed by 18.02.2021."

Based on the Qualifying Criteria, the Marks Range and No of Candidates qualified in each category (General/ EWS/SC/ST/ OBC and PwD of General/EWS SC/ST/ OBC), as provided by National Testing Agency is as follows:

In view of the above, another Stray Vacancy Round is scheduled to be conducted from 12.02.2020 to 18.02.2020 for which such Candidates will have to register on the MCC portal ( www.mcc.nic.in) to participate in the said round of Counselling for BDS after paying the requisite Counselling fees and the Candidates who are already register do not have to register again. The provisional Schedule is attached below 
Fresh Registration/Payment: 12th February, 2021 to 14th February, 2021 (up to 12:00 NOON as per the server timing) Payment facility will be available till 14th February, 2021 up to 03:00 PM as per server time. (3-Days)
Reporting at allotted College: 15th February, 2021 to 18th February, 2021 (up to 08:00 PM as per the Server timing) (4-Days)
The list of the registered Candidates will be forwarded to the Colleges who shall then conduct the Counselling at their own end.
MCC has no role in the said allotment process. Any grievance/discrepancy that arises during the said round of Counselling will be the sole responsibility of the College Authority.
For ensuring faithful obedience of time schedule and also keeping in view the limited time available for conducting counselling, all participating institutes/colleges are directed to treat all Saturday and Sunday as working days.
The Candidates are advised to keep in touch with the MCC website for updates.
