MCC releases round 3 stray vacancy schedule after SC lowers cutoff percentile for BDS admissions
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the schedule of the 3rd stray vacancy round in pursuance of the Supreme Court orders lowering the qualifying criteria for BDS admissions.
The Candidates of NEET-UG, 2020 are informed that in compliance with the Judgment dated 08.02.2021 in "W.P. (C) No. 54 of 2021 in the matter of Harshit Agarwal & Ors. V/s Union of India & Ors.", the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India was pleased to direct as follows:
"We direct that the vacant seats in first year BDS course for the year 2020-2021 shall be filled up from the candidates who have participated in the NEET (UG) courses for the year 2020-2021 after lowering the percentile mark by 10 percentile. The admissions shall be made strictly in accordance with merit and the admission process shall be completed by 18.02.2021."
Based on the Qualifying Criteria, the Marks Range and No of Candidates qualified in each category (General/ EWS/SC/ST/ OBC and PwD of General/EWS SC/ST/ OBC), as provided by National Testing Agency is as follows:
