MDS admissions under EWS quota: CENTAC releases merit list, details
Puducherry: Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has released the draft merit list for PG-Dental Degree courses in respect of Government Quota (EWS).
The merit list is prepared based on the cut-off marks prescribed in NEET - MDS 2022. The category-wise (SC/ST/BT/OBC/MBC/EBC/BCM) lists are also published. Similarly, the lists of eligible candidate-special category wise (Meritorious Sports Person, Persons with Disabilities, Freedom Fighter, and Ex-Servicemen) are also published.
The verification status of the submitted online applications is available in the candidates' login. Objections, if any, may be submitted using the dashboard login under the grievances and attachments option before 7th October 2022, 5:00 pm. SMS / Email is also sent to the students to check the website for details.
Eligibility Criteria for admission to PG Dental Courses -
1. The candidate must have passed the final BDS examination from any recognized Institution / University, completed a satisfactorily one-year compulsory rotating internship as of 31st March 2022, and submit their internship completion certificate at the time of admission.
2. A candidate, to become eligible for admission, must obtain a minimum required percentile in NEET-MDS-2022, as prescribed by regulatory authorities.
Non-eligibility criteria -
1. A candidate who has joined a Post Graduate Degree course in any branch and discontinued the course on any grounds after the cutoff date fixed by the National Medical Commission is not eligible to apply for two subsequent academic years.
2. A candidate who took an allotment for PG Degree course in any branch in the final phase counselling and not joined the course on or before the cutoff date is not eligible to apply for two subsequent academic years.
3. A candidate who is undergoing a Post Graduate Degree course is not eligible to apply for any Post Graduate Degree.
4. A candidate who is completing a Diploma Course (including All India Quota) is not eligible to apply for any Post Graduate Degree Courses in the same academic year.
5. A candidate with a Post Graduate Degree is not eligible to apply for admission to any other Post Graduate Degree Course. However, a candidate who is a Diploma holder is eligible to apply for Post Graduate Degree Course.
NEET- MDS counselling is conducted by the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC). It is a common admission portal for all the colleges of Puducherry and is established by the Government of Puducherry. Under this, the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination and appeared in such a qualifying examination are eligible for admission. There are various courses under its umbrella.
