NEET MDS Counselling 2021: MCC notifies on change in category, subject of seats at 3 dental colleges

New Delhi: Through a recent notification, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has informed about the changes in category/ subject of some seats that were erroneously missed by the colleges while verification of Seat Matrix for Round-1 of MDS Counselling 2021.

As per the seat matrix released by the MCC earlier, there are a total of 31 MDS seats allotted to Central University institutes, 1050 are at Deemed University and 353 are the AIQ MDS seats available for NEET MDS candidates.

According to the counselling body, it recently received information from the following Dental Colleges about changes in category/ the subject of some seats that were erroneously missed by the colleges while verification of Seat Matrix for Round-1 of MDS Counselling 2021.

In view of the foregoing counselling of the MDS courses, the below mentioned changes have been made in the Seat matrix of Round-1 of MDS Counselling 2021. Hence, candidates should take note of the following corrected Seats while filling choices of Round-1.

Previously, in a major move by the Dental Council of India (DCI), the internship cut off dates for dental doctors appearing for NEET MDS 2021, had been extended till 31st July 2021 from the previous deadline of 31st March 2021.

This came as a major relief for many BDS graduates, whose internship periods had gotten extended due to disturbances, owing to the COVID pandemic. 

According to DCI Letter No. DE-NEET(MDS) Admission- 2021/1498 dated 24th August 2021, all candidates participating in the MDS Counselling 2021 were informed that it has decided by the DCI to extend the last date internship from 31st March 2021 to 31st July 2021 as a one time measure, stated the notice posted on MCC website.

The Registration and Choice Filling was thereafter extended by one day i.e upto 25th August 2021 to allow such candidates to register and exercise choices who have become eligible after extension of internship completion date.
