NEET MDS counselling 2026: MCC opens seat withdrawal facility for round 1, 2 freeze, float candidates
New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has allowed the NEET MDS 2026 candidates allotted seats in Round 1 or Round 2 to resign or withdraw from their seats, following several requests received in this regard.
In a notice issued by the MCC, the authority said that the resignation/seat withdrawal facility has been opened for Round 1 and Round 2 FREEZE/FLOAT candidates who had earlier accepted and joined a seat allotted through MCC counselling but now wish to give it up.
The resignation window will remain open until 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026. Candidates should note that withdrawal during this period will be permitted with forfeiture of the security deposit.
The candidates should take note of the following instructions w.r.t. Resignation-
1 The FREEZE candidates who want to resign/ withdraw from their seat will have to physically report at the allotted institute to RESIGN.
2 The FLOAT Candidates (not upgraded) are advised to ensure that they Resign / Withdraw their Round-1or Round-2 seat by logging into their account and generating a Seat Withdrawal slip online, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.
3 Candidates are advised to ensure that their Resignation Letter/ Seat Withdrawal slip is generated online through the portal provided by MCC, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.
4 Once Resigned/ Seat is withdrawn, the candidate will have NO CLAIM over the resigned seat.
The notice was posted by MCC. Candidates who intend to give up their Round 1 or Round 2 MDS seat should complete the prescribed process within the stipulated window and ensure that the online resignation document is generated successfully.
