Tamil Nadu: The Director of Medical Education (DME Tamil Nadu) has invited online applications for admission to MDS courses in government dental colleges and government seats in self-financing dental colleges. The candidates can apply till 26th August 2022 (5:00 pm) online.

Procedure for filling & submission of application -

1. The online application form is available on the websites www.tnhealth.tn.gov.in/ www.tnmedicalselection.org. Any change or modification and relevant information pertaining to the admission process will be made available on these two websites.

2. The last date for receipt of the filled-in online application is 29th August 2922 (5:00 pm). The candidates will have to send the application form to The Secretary, Selection Committee, 162, Periyar E.V.R. High Road, Kilpauk, Chennai – 600 010. The date for the rank list, counselling schedule, closure of admission, and commencement of courses will be notified later.

3. Candidates are advised to read the prospectus carefully before filling out the online application and ensure that no mandatory column is left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for re-consideration will be entertained.

4. Candidates are advised to read the Information Bulletin for NEET MDS 2022 issued by the National Board of Examination (NBE) and carefully go through the instructions regarding NEET MDS 2022and visit the website www.nbe.edu.inregarding detailed qualifying criteria.

5. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

6. Candidates are advised to submit only one online application form. If the candidates submit more than one online application form, their candidature will be cancelled.

7. Candidates should ensure that all information entered in the online application are correct during the online submission of the application form.

8. Candidates should send their filled-in online application form along with all the enclosures in an A4 size cloth lined cover. The template with the requisite details should be printed and pasted on the cover.

9. AR Number (Application Registration Number) will be assigned by the Selection Committee on receipt of the filled-in online applications.

Processing fee –

1. Non Refundable processing fee of Rs.1000.

2. Security Deposit - For Government Medical Colleges - Rs.30000, For Government Quota in Self Financing Medical Colleges – Rs.100000

Security deposit which will be refunded to the candidates –

1. After joining the allotted college.

2. If the candidate did not get any seats during counselling.

Candidate's Left thumb Impression -

1. The candidates should put their hand thumb impression on white paper with blue ink and scan for uploading. In case of any eventuality of the left thumb being unavailable, a right-hand thumb impression may be used.

2. File size must be between 10kb to 50kb.

3. Further, unclear Left-hand thumb impression in the online application Form will be rejected.

Application fee payment –

1. The candidate can pay the fee of Rs .3000 (Non-refundable) through Debit Card, Credit Card/ Net Banking or through the Demand Draft in favour of the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai -10.

2. The last date for submission of the online application form will be up to 5.00 pm on 26th August 2022; thereafter there is no provision for candidates to submit their online application form.

3. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyar) / Scheduled Tribe candidates of Tamil Nadu native are exempted from payment of the cost of the application.

Documents (Self-attested Photocopies) to be submitted along with the application form –

1. NEET MDS 2022 Score Card.

2. NEET MDS 2022 Admit Card

3. Aadhar Card/PANCard/Voter ID

4. BDS Degree Certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate.

5. CRRI Completion Certificate.

6. Permanent/ Provisional Dental Registration Certificate issued by the Dental Council of India /State.

7. Community certificate from the Competent authority indicating the Community status of candidates belonging to Backward Community /Backward Community (Muslim)/ Most Backward Community / Denotified Communities/ Schedule Caste/ Schedule Caste (Arunthathiyar).

8. TNPSC/MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection & Posting Order (For Service Candidates).

9. Nativity Certificate with supportive documents as mentioned in Clause 2(b).

10. Regional Medical Board Certificate for Person with Disabilities.

The same photo that was uploaded in NEET PG 2022 must be uploaded in the filled-in online application. Post Card size colour photograph (4"x6") (size: 50kb to 300kb) to be uploaded.

Eligibility criteria –

1. Candidates should be Citizens of India and should have undergone a BDS course including the entire Compulsory Residential Rotatory Internship(CRRI) period in the State of Tamil Nadu.

2. The candidates who are claiming Nativity of Tamil Nadu should furnish their Certificates of Nativity of Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority and supported by the following documents: Valid copy of Aadhar Card, Driving Licence, Voter's ID, Passport and Proof of Parent's Documents is Mandatory (Aadhar Card and School Certificates).

3. Candidates seeking admission to the MDS course, have to qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- NEET MDS 2022 conducted by the National Board of Examinations.

4. Candidates should be Citizens of India and should have undergone a BDS course including the entire Compulsory Residential Rotatory Internship (CRRI) period in the State of Tamil Nadu.

5. Candidates who have cleared their BDS Examination and completed/completed the CRRI period on or before 31st May 2022 are only eligible to apply. However, the candidates should possess the Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate of the States or of India or the provisional Registration Certificate of the Medical Council at the time of Counselling.

6. Candidates should possess a BDS Degree awarded by the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R Medical University or any other University recognized by the Medical Council of India and the candidates who have qualified from other Universities, should produce an eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai- 600 032 at the time of certificate verification.

Non-Eligibility –

1. Candidates who join the MDS course in any Branch and discontinue the course on any grounds or after the mop-up rounds per the guidelines of the Dental Council of India are not eligible to apply for two subsequent academic years for the MDS course. Further, the candidate shall be considered as discontinued and should pay a discontinuation fee as per Clause 22(c) of this Prospectus.

2. Candidates who are undergoing MDS Courses are not eligible to apply for any MDS Course.

3. Candidates who have already completed MDS / DNB Courses are not eligible to apply for any MDS Course.

4. Candidates belonging to other states (other than Tamil Nadu) are not eligible for Government seats in Government Medical College and Government Quota seats in Self-Financing Medical Colleges.

Rank List - The Rank list will be drawn based on marks obtained in NEET MDS 2022 and the additional weightage marks awarded to eligible in-service category candidates who have qualified in NEET MDS 2022 and as per the existing norms.

Counselling procedure –

1. There will be 4 rounds of counselling Round -1, Round -2, Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy Round. The detailed process of all the rounds is enclosed in the notice below. Stray Vacancy will be conducted by the respective Self Financing Colleges from the merit list being furnished by the selection committee. Selection Committee takes no responsibility for any allotment made in the Stray Vacancy Round.

2. The candidate who has not registered and is not chosen locked in the 1st round of online counselling will be permitted to attend the subsequent rounds of online counselling.

3. Candidates selected for admission should give a self-declaration form at the time of reporting to the concerned Medical College that they are liable for forfeiture of selection/admission if suppression of facts or misinterpretation is found at any time during or after the admission to the course.

4. If any suppression of facts is found later, the selection/admission will be liable for cancellation during or after the admission to the course based on the declaration. Further, the candidates will not be allowed to apply for the Post Graduate Courses for two subsequent academic years.

5. The candidates should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the concerned Medical College on or before the date and time stipulated during the first phase of online counselling.

Method of selection and admission –

1. Seats in Government Dental Colleges: Out of the seats sanctioned for MDS Courses 50% of the total Recognized/permitted seats are offered to All India Quota for allotment by the Director General of Health Services, New Delhi. The remaining 50% of the seats will be allotted under State Quota during the first phase of counselling.

2. Seats in Self-Financing Dental Colleges: Seat sharing with Self-Financing Minority and Non-minority Colleges will be as per state Policy and Dental Council of India (DCI) and applicable Court Orders.

All Non-Service candidates selected will be paid a stipend as per the Government Orders issued by the Government from time to time for Government Dental Colleges as per the norms of the Institution concerned. Service Candidates will be paid salary as per the Government Orders issued by Government from time to time if the candidates are selected for MDS Course in the Government Dental College.
