According to the NBE schedule, the NEET SS 2025 will tentatively be held on 7th and 8th November 2025.
In their letter to the health minister, the doctors under the Indian Medical Association Junior Doctors' Network (IMA-JDN) pointed out that the current schedule of the NEET SS 2025 exam clashed with university examinations, and maintained a short gap between the previous and the upcoming NEET SS examination.
Further, they mentioned that since there is a small gap between the previous and this year's Superspeciality medical entrance examination, it leaves this year's aspirants without a reasonable preparation window, as compared to previous batches.
"On behalf of the Indian Medical Association – Junior Doctors Network (IMA JDN), we wish to bring to your kind attention the genuine concerns of thousands of postgraduate aspirants regarding the scheduling of the upcoming NEET-SS examination in November 2025. While we remain fully committed to advancing our training in super-specialty courses, the present schedule is causing severe hardship for candidates due to unavoidable circumstances," the association highlighted in the letter addressed to the Union Health Minister.
Clash with University Examinations:
The association highlighted that several state and central universities have scheduled MD/MS/DNB final examinations during November and December 2025, directly overlapping with the proposed NEET-SS 2025 dates.
"This overlap makes it logistically and academically impossible for students to prepare adequately for both sets of crucial examinations," they mentioned in the letter.
Insufficient Preparation Period:
The doctors also highlighted that since the gap between the previous and the upcoming NEET-SS examination has been unusually short this year, aspirants are left with inadequate time for focused preparation.
"Considering the vast syllabus and the highly competitive nature of this examination, the compressed timeline places an unfair burden on students," they added.
Fairness and Equity:
"Conducting two consecutive examinations in such close succession without providing a reasonable preparation window disproportionately disadvantages this year’s aspirants as compared to previous batches. This raises serious concerns about fairness and equity in the conduct of a national-level super-specialty entrance examination," the doctors highlighted in the letter.
Referring to these "genuine difficulties", doctors under IMA-JDN requested for the Union Health Minister's intervention to postpone the NEET-SS 2025 examination to a later date that allows adequate preparation time and avoids overlap with MD/MS/DNB university examinations. "This will ensure that all aspirants are able to compete on an equal footing without undue stress or disadvantage," they mentioned.
