In the letter addressed to the Union Health Secretary, Director General of DGHS and Director of MCC, the association has referred to the ongoing delay in the NEET PG counselling process, "which has led to widespread uncertainty among thousands of postgraduate medical aspirants across the country."

"Due to the extended timeline and procedural interruptions, many candidates were unable to complete their registration or submit the requisite documents for NRI quota conversion within the stipulated window. UDF has received numerous representations and grievances from genuine applicants who, despite repeated attempts, could not complete the process due to circumstances beyond their control," the letter mentioned.
Accordingly, the association has requested the Ministry and MCC to consider reopening the NEET PG counselling registration portal and the NRI quota document submission facility for a limited period.
"This measure would ensure transparency, fairness, and optimal utilisation of available postgraduate seats while safeguarding the interests of deserving candidates. We sincerely trust that the authorities will give due consideration to this request in the interest of equity and justice for all NEET PG aspirants," Dr. Mittal added in the letter.
Commenting on the matter, Dr. Lakshya Mittal told Medical Dialogues, "Several students and aspirants informed us that their registration remained incomplete or they could not send the required documents in time. I think that when the counselling has not even started, they should get a chance to correct those issues and therefore, the portal should be reopened."
Through a notice dated 06.11.2025, MCC has informed all the candidates that the competent authority has decided to extend the Choice Filling of Round-1 of PG Counselling 2025 till further notice, as the seat matrix has to be revised, due to information received from the National Medical Counselling (NMC) for changes in PG seats and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for withdrawal of 169 PG DNB seats after the start of Round-1 of PG Counselling.
Therefore, the MCC of DGHS is in the process of revising the seat matrix in the larger interest of candidates, after removing excess seats and reapplying the roster to maintain the reservation policy. Hence, the Revised Schedule and Seat matrix of Round-1 of All India PG Counselling 2025 will be uploaded shortly on the MCC website. Also, the State PG Counselling schedule will be revised and updated on the MCC website.
