Dr Yash Jain bags AIR 1 in NEET SS 2024
Odisha- Dr Yash Jain from Kantabanji in Balangir district secured AIR 1 in the NEET Super Speciality (NEET-SS) exam 2024, conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Dr Jain scored 498 out of 600 marks.
In fact, two candidates have made Odisha proud by securing top ranks, Dr Yash and Dr Anurag Anupam.
Dr Yash Jain, 27, from Kantabanji in Balangir district, Odisha, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 by scoring 498 marks out of 600. He completed his postgraduate (PG) degree from the Government Medical College, Nagpur.
Another aspirant named Dr Anurag Anupam, 33, who completed his PG from AIIMS Bhubaneswar in 2023, secured All India Rank 7 in NEET-SS 2024 in his second attempt by scoring 475 out of 600 marks. Currently employed in a private medical college and hospital in Bhubaneswar, Anupam said he is interested in pursuing rheumatology and immunology, a superspeciality course which has limited seats across the country.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Manjhi, Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik, Deputy Chief Ministers Parvati Parida and Singh Deo, Balangir MP Sangita Kumari Singh Deo and other prominent leaders congratulated Yash on his achievement.
The NEET-SS 2024 entrance exam was held on 29 and 30 March 2025. It is a single entrance exam for admission to various DM, MCh and DrNB super-speciality courses across India. The results were declared on Saturday.
