Based on the feedback received from the students, who appeared in the screening test, the FMGE question papers (including both Paper 1 and Paper 2) were of an easy-to-moderate difficulty level.
As per the existing norms, the foreign medical graduates, after returning to India, must clear the FMGE screening test to be able to practice medicine in India. After passing in the FMGE exam, the FMGs are required to undergo the mandatory internship/clerkship in India before being awarded the permanent registration to practice medicine in the country.
It is NBEMS, which organises the FMGE screening test, which carries a total of 300 marks. The students must score more than 150 to qualify for the examination.

As per the latest media report by Shiksha, based on the reactions received from the students, the FMGE December 2025 Paper 1 was of a moderate difficulty level. The students have shared mixed responses, as a few students mentioned that Paper 1 was easy to moderate, while some of the students found the exam a little tricky.
In Paper 1, the questions were from Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology, and PSM. Since Paper 1 was not very lengthy, the students were able to manage their time.
