FMGE likely to be held in January 2024: NBE
Delhi: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has announced the conduction of the next Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) tentatively on January 2024.
As per the notice, the examination will be held on a Computer Based Platform at various test centers across the country. The candidates should refer to the NBEMS website from time to time for the final schedule of examination, as the above schedule is purely tentative, and also refer to the Information Bulletin of FMGE at NBEMS website for eligibility criteria, fee structure, scheme of examination and other details as and when notified.
The notice states that “The applicants who are desirous to appear in next Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) are hereby informed that National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) shall conduct the next FMGE tentatively in January 2024 on a Computer Based Platform at various test centers across the country”.
The FMGE-Screening Test has been introduced through Screening Test Regulations 2002. As per the regulations, An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after 15.03.2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has been entrusted with the responsibility to conduct the Screening Test as per Screening Test Regulations 2002. The role of NBEMS is limited to conducting the test, publishing the result, and handing over the result to the National Medical Commission & all State Medical Councils.
