FMGE: NMC gives additional opportunity for eligibility certificate applications, check new deadline
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has given one more opportunity for applications for Eligibility Certificates by foreign medical graduates, which is mandatory to appear in the screening test i.e. Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE).
In a recently issued public notice dated 1st April 2026, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB), NMC decided to grant an additional opportunity for candidates who could not apply for the Eligibility Certificate earlier due to technical issues.
The move comes in continuation of the earlier notice whereby candidates were told to apply by March 31st 2026.
" The candidates desirous of seeking Eligibility Certificates from EMRB, NMC may please refer to the previous public notice dated 27/02/2026 on the subject mentioned above wherein candidates were given opportunity to apply for the Eligibility Certificate till 31/03/2026. The Registration, EMRB has received representations from some candidates that due to technical issues, they were not able to submit their applications within the above time frame," the notice read.
Keeping in view the career prospects of the applicants, the EMRB, NMC has decided to give an additional opportunity to the candidates who were not able to submit their applications earlier for issuance of the Eligibility Certificate. Accordingly, the applications may be submitted through the National Medical Commission's website as per the schedule given below:

"It is advised that the candidates may not wait for the last date to apply and should submit their applications as early as possible. It may also be noted that the issuance of an Eligibility Certificate involves multiple checks to ascertain eligibility in accordance with the provisions of the regulations in vogue. The candidates should fill the application form scrupulously in order to avoid unnecessary to & fro movement of the application to resolve the deficiencies," the notice clearly stated
